Indian Valley rallies for three in seventh to beat Indian Creek 5-4

Indian Valley erased a two-run deficit with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday night, pulling out a 5-4 non-conference win over Indian Creek at 253 S Walnut St. The Braves trailed 4-2 after five innings before finishing the comeback in the final frame.
Indian Creek struck first with a run in the top of the first, but Indian Valley answered in the second to tie the game at 1-1. Indian Creek moved back in front with two runs in the third for a 3-1 lead, and the Braves responded with a run in the bottom half to cut it to 3-2. Another Indian Creek run in the fifth made it 4-2 and set up the late rally.
The decisive push came in the seventh, when Indian Valley put together the three runs it needed to move in front for the first time all night. The Braves finished with eight hits and took advantage of a strong on-base night, posting a .480 on-base percentage while leaving seven runners on base. Indian Creek was limited to four hits, though it made the most of its chances early and carried the lead into the final inning.
Hayden Beaber led Indian Valley's offense, going 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs in four plate appearances. Kylan McDonald added two hits, both doubles, and scored twice. Those two helped anchor a lineup that steadily created traffic and finally broke through against Indian Creek pitching late.
On the mound, Ryker Williams closed the door for Indian Valley and earned the win with 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. He did not allow a hit, walked two and struck out one. Indian Creek starter Sylus Hyde worked 5 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits with five walks. James Brothers provided Indian Creek's biggest swing with a home run, accounting for one of the visitors' four hits.
The comeback win followed the game script closely from start to finish: Indian Creek scored first, Indian Valley stayed within range, and the Braves delivered the final answer in the bottom of the seventh. Indian Valley improved its night with timely late offense and enough relief pitching to hold the margin where it stood, 5-4.
