Providence Basketball Unveils 2026-27 Schedule
A new district alignment, nine home games and three early-season tournaments give Providence basketball plenty to anticipate in the 2026-27 season. The Provets will open the schedule on the road against Holy Cross at 5:30 p.m. CST Thursday, Nov. 5, before returning to Glahn Gymnasium for their home opener against YWLA on Friday, Nov. 6. The home debut will offer Providence supporters their first look at a team preparing to chase a wide-open district race.
The opening weeks will keep the Provets busy and provide valuable experience against a variety of opponents. Providence will compete in the South San Tournament from Nov. 12-14, followed by the SAISD Tournament from Nov. 19-21. Another multiday test arrives with the Edgewood Tournament from Dec. 3-5. Those tournament stretches will give the team several chances to build chemistry and establish its rotation before district competition begins.
District play opens Jan. 5 at home in Glahn Gym against St. Augustine, making it one of the schedule’s key dates. With the district operating under a new alignment, there is no clear favorite entering the season. That uncertainty leaves the race up for grabs and raises the importance of defending home court throughout Providence’s nine-game home slate. Every district matchup could carry extra weight as the standings begin to take shape.
Senior Night on Feb. 5 will provide another must-watch date at Glahn Gym, giving the Providence community a chance to recognize the program’s seniors during the closing stretch of the season.
