Unity Seats Brings Veterans and Neighbors Together at Meeker High School Football Game
The Cedaredge Bruins will visit Meeker High School on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, for a football game that will bring the community together for competition, remembrance and connection. Activities are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. MDT at Meeker High School, 550 School St in Meeker, with kickoff between Meeker Cowboys and Cedaredge set for 6 p.m.
The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the US United Unity Seats Experience, hosting selected local veterans in designated Unity Seats alongside first responders, community members and local government representatives. Their shared evening at the game will celebrate service while strengthening the relationships that help Rio Blanco County thrive.
Unity Seats uses sports as common ground, pairing law enforcement leaders with residents who may hold different viewpoints and seating them together as neighbors rather than adversaries. For this event, the sheriff’s office has invited local veterans to join the experience, creating space for respectful conversation, shared pride and new connections while supporting local student-athletes.
