Jaguars Place Third Behind Three Top-20 Finishers at Avon Tournament
OBERLIN, Ohio, Aug. 31, 2026 - Saint Joseph Academy placed three golfers in the individual top 20 and finished third among 16 teams Monday at the Avon Rush Family Honorary Golf Tournament. The Jaguars combined for a four-player score of 351, 63 over par, across 18 holes at Oberlin Golf Club.
Ella Babcock '27 and Vera Swartz '27 shared the Jaguars' low round, each shooting an 85 to finish 13 over par. Willa Streeter '27 followed one stroke behind with an 86, 14 over, giving Saint Joseph Academy three top-20 finishers separated by a single shot.
That consistency at the top of the lineup anchored the Jaguars' place near the front of a large tournament field. Babcock and Swartz supplied matching scores, while Willa Streeter kept the team's third counting round within one shot of the team lead.
Izzy Streeter '28 completed the Jaguars' team total with a 95. Her round provided the fourth counting score needed to reach 351, securing third place for Saint Joseph Academy. Reese Cupach also completed the tournament with a 103.
Magnificat led the team standings, with Brunswick finishing second and Saint Joseph Academy taking the next spot. The Jaguars' three top-20 performances helped them separate themselves from most of the 16-team field and finish only behind the tournament's top two teams.
Early-morning rain cleared before becoming a larger factor, leaving Oberlin Golf Club in strong playing condition. Overcast skies and a temperature near 70 degrees greeted the field, although the humidity remained high throughout the day. With four counting rounds of 95 or better, the Jaguars turned their balanced lineup into a third-place tournament finish.
