CLEVELAND, Ohio - Saint Joseph Academy completed a straight-set victory over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School on Tuesday, winning 25-13, 25-23, 25-19 to secure the volleyball program’s second sweep of the season.
The varsity Jaguars established control with an emphatic opening set. Saint Joseph Academy played with intensity from the first serve, using steady pressure at the net and from the service line to pull away for a 25-13 win. Anne Culkar led the serving effort with five aces, helping the Jaguars dictate the pace and limit the visitors’ opportunities to build momentum.
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School delivered its strongest challenge in the second set. The teams battled through the closest frame of the match before Saint Joseph Academy closed out a 25-23 victory. The Jaguars maintained their composure in the tight finish, earning a two-set advantage despite sustained resistance from the visitors.
That combination of attacking production, blocking and serving carried into the third set, when the Jaguars finished the sweep with a 25-19 win. Hadyn Michalskipowered the Saint Joseph Academy attack with 11 kills, consistently giving the Jaguars a finishing option at the net. Bea Jarchow strengthened the defensive effort with four blocks.
Hadyn Michalski was named player of the match as Saint Joseph Academy finished off a complete three-set performance. Saint Joseph Academy now heads to Columbus for the Columbus Invitational Tournament. The Jaguars’ next match is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at 6 p.m.
