MIDVALE, Ohio - Lily Shepler shot a match-low 35 to lead the Strasburg girls golf team to a four-player score of 194 against Sandy Valley on Thursday, Aug. 27. Sandy Valley did not record a team score in the match, which began at noon.

Shepler finished one stroke ahead of Sandy Valley's Charlei Stenger, who posted a 36. Those were the two lowest rounds of the match and created a tight race for the top individual spot, with Shepler gaining the edge on the final scorecard.

Lily Lyons supplied Strasburg's second-lowest round with a 46, giving the Tigers two scores below 50. Allie Koprivec followed with a 48, while Lora Abdel Basset completed the team total with a 65. Strasburg's four counting rounds added up exactly to 194.

The contributions from Lyons and Koprivec provided important support behind Shepler's leading performance. Their combined 94 helped establish the middle of the Tigers' scorecard, while the 65 completed a full team result for Strasburg.

Sandy Valley had two individual scores available. Charlei Stenger challenged Shepler with the 36, and Trinity Kula finished with a 50. Without a complete team total, Sandy Valley's golfers competed for individual placement rather than a head-to-head aggregate result.

The golfers played in partly cloudy conditions with a temperature of 76 degrees and light wind at 5 mph. Shepler's 35 stood as the defining score, and Strasburg paired it with two additional sub-50 rounds to finish the day at 194.
