In an exhilarating display of skill and determination, the Winton Woods High School Warriors clinched the Girls Varsity State Championship, triumphing over the Anthony Wayne Generals with a decisive 70-55 victory on March 14, 2025, at the University of Dayton Arena.

The Warriors, led by sensational performances from their star players, maintained a strong lead throughout the match. Strawberry Blankumsee, the game's top scorer, dropped an impressive 28 points, carving the path to victory for Winton Woods. Other notable contributions came from Daniah Trammell with 17 points, while Whitley Davis and Niyala Harmon added 11 and 10 points respectively.

The halftime score was a tight 37-33, in favor of Winton Woods. By the final quarter, however, the Warriors had extended their lead significantly, thanks in part to a robust defensive effort that capitalized on 19 turnovers from the Generals, scoring 29 points off these opportunities. The Warriors' efficiency was also highlighted by their formidable free throw performance, sinking 23 out of 31 attempts.

This win not only marks a milestone victory but also retains the Warriors' perfect season record at 27-0, an impeccable journey to the championship.
