Community Partner Spotlight: uReport Connects Wyoming Schools and Communities
At the Wyoming Coaches Association (WCA), we have partnered with uReport to bring its AI writing platform to Wyoming high schools. Four of Newcastle High School’s five fall sports have used the platform to generate stories. Newcastle’s work throughout the fall offers a practical example for other schools, with game summaries, meet coverage and player spotlights helping connect programs with their community.
The partnership gives schools a tool to create and share coverage of student-athletes and school activities. Mickey Crabtree, Newcastle’s head volleyball coach, highlighted the ability to generate stories, request revisions and make personal edits before sharing them on other platforms. Allen Von Eye, assistant football coach, emphasized the platform’s ease of use and the time it saves while helping coaches promote their programs.
At Newcastle, that coverage extends beyond results. The school has used uReport to support its Dogie Way Shoutout program, which recognizes positive actions witnessed at school sports and activities. It also used the platform to share Homecoming information. FFA and FBLA programs can use the same tools to connect with their followers, extending the platform’s applications beyond athletics.
Families and fans can contribute photos and videos through the free uReport Connect app for iOS and Android, with submissions reviewed before being added to stories and team galleries. Coaches can also attach football film highlights or short clips from other events. Direct links to social media accounts help distribute that coverage. Sonja Karp, head swimming coach, described the platform as a way to highlight swimming and diving accomplishments in a sport that receives less attention than other fall programs.
For our member schools, Newcastle provides examples of how a writing platform can support both athletic coverage and community participation. Visit Newcastle’s story page to explore its coverage and find ideas for using uReport at your school. Every school in Wyoming has free access to uReport for the 2026-27 school year.
