Avon bowlers are swept by Medina Buckeye

Returning to action after a long holiday break, the boys and girls bowling teams from Avon were both defeated Monday in a non-conference matchup with Medina Buckeye at Nautical Lanes.

Grady Stipe had an excellent performance for Avon’s boys, rolling games of 213-231 (444), but it wasn’t enough, as Buckeye won by the score of 2,367-2,233. Also competing for the Eagles, now 4-4, were Nathen Stewart at 213-164 (377), Bennett Ernst at 161-183 (344), Cole Corpus at 157-177 (334), Nick Sanchez at 191 and Austin Wolfe at 144.

Avon’s girls fell to Buckeye by the score of 1,693-1,529 as the Eagles dropped to 4-4. Leading the way for Avon was Juliet Triplett at 181-140 (321). She was backed by Ava Benninghofen at 184-94 (278), Kailynn Forbis at 125-122 (247), Grace Freeman at 114-119 (233) and Kara Patton at 111-108 (219).

The Eagles next compete on Wednesday when they face Westlake at Nautical Lanes.
