Avon Eagles Dominate Lorain Titans in Boys Basketball Showdown
The Avon High School Eagles boys varsity basketball team triumphed over the Lorain Titans in a non-conference game on the home court on Feb. 13. Zane Austin led the charge with an impressive 20 points for Avon, supported by Nate Farley with 11 points and Tyson Ziegler with a solid 9 points. A notable highlight off the bench was provided by Joey Griffiths, who chipped in crucially with 6 points and pivotal rebounds. The Eagles started strongly, maintaining a narrow lead at halftime with the scoreboard reading Avon 24, Lorain 20. The second half saw the home team pull ahead with a display of skill and determination, ultimately sealing a 63-45 win. With this victory, the Avon High School Eagles boys basketball team's record improved to 13-7 as they prepare to host the Amherst Comets in their next game.
