Avon Eagles Soar to Victory and advance to the District Finals

The Avon Eagles triumphed over the Warren G Harding Raiders with an overwhelming 7-0 victory at Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet Stadium on October 23, 2024. This playoff match showcased the Varsity Eagles advancing their stellar season record to 12-1-4. From the beginning, the Eagles demonstrated firm control of the match. At halftime, the score stood at 1-0, thanks to a critical goal by junior forward Brock Harmon. As the match progressed, the Eagles found the back of the net an impressive six more times. Goals were scored by a diverse group from the Eagles' roster, including senior Gabe Kitchens, sophomores London Carnie, Valentino Cruzardo, Kyle Hallowell, Mateo Muratore, and Trevor Bundridge. The assists were notably provided by sophomore London Carnie and senior Owen Warrick, with Warrick assisting three times. The Eagles' goalkeeper senior Frankie Kenny and the Raiders senior Everett Miranda, played pivotal roles in maintaining an a close match heading into halftime. Kenny and Debrovic’s commendable performance ensured that the Raiders' attempts to score were in vain, securing a shutout victory. Avon High School is already looking ahead to their next challenge, as they are set to face North Royalton at Ely Stadium in Elyria on October 26, in the District Finals. The Eagles are more determined than ever to maintain their winning streak and make a deep run in this season's playoffs.
