Avon High School Eagles Clinch Victory Over Avon Lake Shoremen in Southwest Conference Basketball Contest

AVON LAKE, OH - In a thrilling Southwest Conference basketball contest tonight, January 17, 2025, the Avon High School Eagles secured a hard-fought victory against the Avon Lake Shoremen at Avon Lake High School. The Eagles emerged victorious with a final score of 47-40, improving their season record to 5-6. The game kicked off with intense competition, leading to a halftime score favoring the Eagles at 25-19. Senior Andrew Falasco led the charge for Eagles by scoring a game-high 19 points. His performance, coupled with Senior Nolan Good's contribution of 16 points, was pivotal in the Eagles' successful outing. Falasco shared insights into the team's approach, particularly during a challenging first half when asked about the low-scoring first half, Falasco expressed β€œIt was important to keep in rhythm and not letting the game get too fast.” Falasco also reflected on the team's ability to overcome early struggles by saying "Everyone picks up each other in times of struggle, and this led to the victory!" He also highlighted the halftime strategy, noting that Coach Fitch focused on regrouping the team and reinforcing expectations, which he believes were crucial components of their win in a hostile environment. Looking ahead, the Eagles will face the Elyria Pioneers at Elyria High School on January 21, 2025. The upcoming game is eagerly anticipated as the Eagles seek to get revenge on the Pioneers in which they lost to by 10 just six days ago and build on their current momentum and climb higher in the Southwest Conference standings.
