Avon High School Eagles Clinch Victory Over Shoremen

The Avon Eagles sunk the Avon Lake Shoremen with a commanding 65-47 victory during the Southwest Conference clash on January 25th, hosted at the home court of the Eagles From the onset, the Eagles took a formidable lead, ending the first half in their favor with a score of 36-21. Their dominance was maintained throughout the game, ultimately securing them the win with a final score of 65-47. Highlights of the game included stellar performances from senior Nolan Good, who scored an impressive 17 points, and sophomore Joey Ziegler, who added 11 points to the Eagles' tally. As for the Shoremen they were lead by Senior Cameron Moore who scored 15 points. Coach Fitch praised his team's ability to adjust tactics. He remarked, "the Shoremen didn’t run their normal plays, which threw us off slightly, but we stayed patient", acknowledging the challenges and the team's ability to rise above them to secure the win. Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to face the Gilmour Academy Lancers on January 28th at Avon High School, aiming to improve their current balanced season record of 7-7 and continue this winning momentum.
