Avon High School Eagles fall just short against the Mayfield Wildcats

In a closely contested baseball event at Cushers Stadium, the Avon High School Eagles endured a tough defeat, falling 8-6 to the Mayfield Wildcats on April 17, 2025. The non-conference game showcased a spirited performance from the Eagles, despite an early deficit working against them. From Avon High, notable performances came from several players. Senior #15 Andrew Falasco, senior Ian Cain, senior Robby Sykora, sophomore Byce Chura, and senior Hunter Jackson all managed to score runs. Particularly impressive were the contributions from Ian Cain, who scored twice. Contributing significantly to the team's score, senior Colten Fitch clocked in with 3 RBIs, and Bryce Chura added another 2 RBIs. Junior #41 John Carter started the game as the pitcher for the Eagles. Reflecting on their current season record of 3-6, the Eagles look ahead to their next challenge. They will remain at Crushers Stadium to face the Berea-Midpark Titans on April 21, 2025, hoping to improve their standing and showcase their resilience in what promises to be an exciting inter-conference ballgame.
