Avon High School Eagles Triumph in EsportsOhio Northeast Regionals

The Avon High School Eagles soared to victory at the EsportsOhio Northeast Regionals on March 16, taking top honors in Fortnite and clinching the title of State Runner-Up. The esports event held at the Baldwin Wallace Esports Facility became a stage of triumph for Avon High School as its Fortnite team demonstrated skill and teamwork throughout the competition. This impressive performance secured Avon's position as the Northeast Regional champions. They also earned OHSAA state runner up, the 2nd year in a row for Avon. "Although we couldn't win it all, I am proud of this group. They overcame so many challenges throughout the matches to earn regional champ, and the fact this is their first season, I'd call it a success," the team's coach said. Despite narrowly missing out on the statewide championship, the Avon Eagles' valiant effort in Fortnite left a mark on the tournament, continuing the high school's place as a serious contender in the esports community.
