Avon's boys and girls bowling team earn victories over rival Avon Lake

For the second consecutive match the Avon boys set a season’s best for team total as both the boys and girls bowling teams defeated rival Avon Lake Wednesday at Nautical Lanes.
Avon’s boys took a lead of 61 pins after the first individual game, but the Shoreman came roaring back and won the second individual game by 86 pins. The difference came in the Baker games, which saw the Eagles total a season’s best 456 in the two games while Avon Lake managed to total just 358. When all the pins were added up, Avon had a season’s-best total of 2,590 to 2,512 for Avon Lake to up its record to 6-5.
The consistent play of Bennett Ernst led the Eagles as he rolled games of 247-241 (488). He was backed by Grady Stipe at 268-214 (482), Cole Corpus at 183-220 (403) and Nick Sanchez at 185-199 (384).
The Avon girls had much easier time in defeating their rivals, winning by the score of 1,482-934 to move to 5-6. The Eagles were led by Juliet Triplett at 133-132 (265). She was followed by Kailynn Forbis at 119-126 (245), Cameron Gallup at 114-127 (241), Kara Patton at 146 and Ava Benninghofen at 136.
The Eagles return to the lanes on Monday when they face Oberlin at Lake Erie Lanes.
