Boys golfers set school record in victory over Amherst
Jack Hecei shot a 32 Tuesday to help the Avon boys golf team set a school scoring record and defeat Amherst in Southwestern Conference action at Bob-O-Link Golf Course.
The Eagles combined for a team score of 139, setting a school record and defeating the Comets by 17 strokes. Hecei was backed by Zack Snyder with a 33, Cameron Ocepek with a 35 and Sam Griffiths with a 39.
Next on the schedule for Avon is the Midview Invitational Tuesday at Columbia Hills Country Club. The results from this tournament help determine the final standings for the SWC golf championship.
