Boys lacrosse falls to Shaker Heights, 11-9

Avon’s boys lacrosse team held a 6-4 halftime lead but was unable to maintain the advantage Thursday as visiting Shaker Heights came back in the second half to take an 11-9 decision. The loss ended a modest three-game winning streak for the Eagles, who are now 6-3.

Jackson Brokaw led the way for Avon with three goals and two assists. Earlier in the week in a victory over Bay, the senior scored the 100th point of his career. He now has 69 goals and 36 assists. Brokaw was backed by Jude Theibert with three goals and Fin Jerdonek with two goals and an assist. In addition, Evan Juergens had one goal and Will Conley had an assist.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Medina.
