Eagles bowl well against North Ridgeville but lose both matches

A few records were established Monday in a dual bowling match at Nautical Lanes with North Ridgeville, but Avon’s boys and girls both lost to the Rangers. The boys were defeated by 60 pins, 2,443-2,383, while the girls fell, 1,801-1,583.
With Bennett Ernst rolling a career-best 288 in the first individual game, the Eagles took a lead of 61 pins, but they were unable to stay on top despite combining for their best team total of the season. Avon also set a school record of 1,285 in the first game with Baker. Ernst led the way at 288-218 (501), followed by Nick Sanchez setting a personal record at 257-168 (425), Grady Stipe at 176-225 (401), Nathen Stewart at 165-146 (311) and Cole Corpus at 152.
For the girls, Ava Benninghofen set career highs with a 225 game and a 363 series to lead Avon. She came in at 138-225 (363) and was backed by Grace Freeman at 122-134 (256), Kailynn Forbis at 97-116 (213), Kara Patton at 114-96 (210), Juliet Triplett at 155 and Cameron Gallup at 97.
The Eagles will be in action again on Wednesday when they face archrival Avon Lake at Nautical Lanes.
