Joe Magill | Avon High School | Oct 23, 2025

Top-seeded Avon began its postseason journey Wednesday with a 6-0 victory over visiting Normandy in a boys soccer Division II district semifinal. Less than 4 minutes into the match, Mateo Muratore scored an unassisted goal, and then, 6 minutes later, he assisted on a goal by London Carnie. Grady Kramer and Mark Dushaj each added goals as the 12-2-3 Eagles took a 4-0 halftime lead. Brock Harman and Kramer each added goals in the second half to reach the final score. Three different Avon players spent time in goal, as the Eagles pieced together their 10th shutout of the season and their fifth in a row. During that stretch, Avon has outscored its opponents, 20-0. Oliver Dobrovic, Tyler Ferguson and Owen Huron each had a save in goal against Normandy. The Eagles next face Green in a district final at 7 p.m. Saturday at Parma’s Byers Field. Green, 8-8-2, defeated North Ridgeville, 2-1, in their district semifinal.
