Eagles go to 5-1 in volleyball with sweep at St. Edward
The volleyball team continued its winning ways Monday, traveling to St. Edward High School and posting a sweep of the Varsity B team by the scores of 25-21, 25-9, 25-19. Avon is now 5-1 and plays at Midview on Tuesday.
Freshman Noah Mai led the way for the Eagles with nine kills, 16 digs and four blocks, including three solo blocks. Avon dominated play at the net with 12 blocks. Kyle Partridge matched Mai with four blocks, while John Ling had three and Finn Petzinger, Logan Lam and Oliver Dobrovic each had two.
Petzinger added five kills and two aces to the cause, while Lam had four kills and 12 assists. In addition, Partridge, Dobrovic and Ling each had three kills, and Keegan Tarkany led the team with three aces and 13 assists.
