Eagles tie Westlake, 1-1, in non-conference boys soccer

Joe Magill | Avon High School | Sep 23, 2025

Brock Harman scored an unassisted goal with less than 7 minutes remaining in the match Monday to force a 1-1 tie with host Westlake, as both teams struggled in wet, rainy conditions. It was the eighth goal that Harman scored in his team’s last three matches. The 6-2-2 Demons, who reached the regional semifinals in Division III last year, took an early lead on a goal just 15 minutes into the match. For much of the night the wet conditions dictated play on the grass field, as both teams struggled to control the ball. Eventually, Harman scored the equalizer to put Avon’s record at 7-2-1. Avon, currently tied atop the Southwestern Conference standings with Avon Lake at 4-0, play at SWC foe Amherst Wednesday.
