Eagles to open postseason with rematch against North Ridgeville

Avon’s boys basketball team will open the Division II postseason against a familiar opponent following the tournament draw on Sunday.

The Eagles, seeded 10th with a 16-6 record, will host Southwestern Conference foe North Ridgeville on March 3. The Rangers are the 16th seed and finished the regular season with a 13-9 mark.

The teams played twice during the regular season and split the games, with the visiting team winning each time. They first met at North Ridgeville on December 30, a game that was postponed from December 12 at the request of Avon because of its extended football season. The Eagles won that matchup, 59-46.

They met again on January 20 at Avon, with the Rangers winning, 60-49.
