Girls lacrosse drops 11-10 decision to Bay
Avon’s girls lacrosse team rallied back from a six-goal deficit at halftime, but the Eagles came up just short Tuesday, dropping an 11-10 decision to host Bay. Both losses for Avon this season have been by the same score, with the other coming in overtime against Strongsville.
The Eagles, now 8-2, found themselves behind, 10-4, at halftime but outscored the hosts, 6-1, in the second half. Brailynn Parker had three of her four goals after halftime to spark the Avon comeback. Teammate Ella Schaffer also had four goals, with three coming in the first half.
The result sets up a very tight race in the Northern Ohio Lacrosse League between Avon, Rocky River and Bay, each with one loss in the circuit. Avon edged Rocky River, 11-10, and the Pirates topped Bay, 10-9.
The Eagles play again on Thursday when they travel to Shaker Heights.
