Kenston Bombers Prevail Over Avon Eagles in Baron Cup Hockey Clash

In a Baron Cup varsity hockey game on Feb. 7 at the John M. Coyne Rec Center, the Kenston High School Bombers clinched a 6-2 victory over the Avon High School Eagles. The match had been a well-fought one with both teams locked at a 0-0 tie after the first period. However, the Bombers surged ahead in the second period and ultimately secured a lead with a score of Grant Pettrucelli, delivered pivotal moments for the team. Pettrucelli scored twice. The goals were supported by assists from Corey Thompson, Jake Zurawski, Zak Snyder, and Dylan Gutz. For the Avon Eagles, the game marked a commendable performance by goalie Nick Thompson, who made 26 saves during the match, showcasing a strong last line of defense for his team. The Eagles, currently holding a 9-16-0 record, will regroup and prepare to face Rocky River in the first round of the OHSAA playoffs on Feb. 18 at 4:00 pm at the John M. Coyne Rec Center in Brooklyn.
