Ryan Garlitz places sixth in all-round at SWC championships
Ryan Garlitz represented Avon High School Saturday in the Southwestern Conference gymnastics championships at the Summit County Fairgrounds. Although the Eagles were one of four schools that didn’t field enough participants to compete for the team title, Garlitz fared well as an individual.
An Honorable Mention All-SWC pick last year, Garlitz placed sixth in the all-around competition with a score of 31.65. Her best finish in an event was a tie for fifth in vault with a score of 7.8. Garlitz, who trains with the Berea-Midpark gymnasts, also was seventh on beam (8.1), eighth on floor (8.5) and ninth on bars (7.25).
