Volleyball team drops first match of the season to Normandy
Avon’s boys volleyball team rolled through the first two sets, but the Eagles couldn’t maintain their momentum and eventually fell to visiting Normandy on Thursday by the scores of 12-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21, and 15-9. It was the first loss of the season for Avon, now 3-1.
Kyle Partridge topped the Eagles with five kills, while Noah Mai, Logan Lam, Finn Petzinger and John Ling each had four. Ling added four aces and four digs, Petzinger had two aces, and Keegan Tarkany led the team with 11 assists.
Avon returns to action Friday night when they travel to face arch-rival Avon Lake.
