Volleyball team wins three matches at Sylvania Northview

Avon’s boys volleyball team continued to have success on the road Saturday as the Eagles traveled to Sylvania Northview and won three matches, giving them seven in a row away from home. Avon, now 10-1, defeated Walled Lake Western (MI) by scores of 25-13, 17-25, 15-5, Northview by scores of 25-19, 26-24, and Amherst by scores of 25-22, 25-17.

Oliver Dobrovic dominated play at the net against Walled Lake Western with eight kills and one block. He was backed by Finn Petzinger with four kills and Noah Mai with three kills, four aces and 10 digs. Kyle Partridge contributed three blocks and 15 digs, and Keegan Tarkany had 15 assists and 11 digs.

Petzinger led the way against Northview with five kills and five aces. Mai added four kills and 15 digs, Dobrovic had three solo blocks and Tarkany had 14 assists. Against Amherst, Mai had eight kills and two aces, Landon Gomez had five kills, Dobrovic had two solo blocks, Partridge had 11 digs, and Tarkany had 20 assists.

The Eagles return home on Tuesday when they host St. Ignatius, one of the top programs in the state.
