Union Grove High School Broncos Fall to Westosha Central Falcons in Home Softball Showdown
Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos fell to Westosha Central Varsity Falcons 7-2 on Monday. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after River Jamison walked, and Westosha Central Varsity Falcons dropped a third strike, each scoring one run. Westosha Central Varsity Falcons took the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fourth thanks to home runs by Haley Bies, and Abby Plapp. Megan Lampos earned the win for Westosha Central Varsity Falcons. The pitcher gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three. Ciara Hage took the loss for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos. The starter went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one. Katie Madrigal went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos in hits. The game also saw Union Grove's players E Santarelli and R Jamison contributing to the scoreboard, though unfortunately, no Broncos players managed a home run during the match.
