Union Grove High School Varsity Broncos Dominate Against Appleton East Varsity Patriots

Katie Madrigal collected three hits in four at bats, as Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos defeated Appleton East Varsity Patriots 9-2 on Saturday. Madrigal singled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos scored five runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Madrigal singled, scoring one run, Ava Greening singled, scoring two runs, and Emma LaFrania singled, scoring two runs. Marlee Lange earned the win for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos. The right-handed pitcher surrendered seven hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking two. Aubrey Heinz took the loss for Appleton East Varsity Patriots. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, giving up five runs on 10 hits, striking out one and walking none. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos piled up 14 hits in the game. LaFrania, the number eight hitter for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day, doubling on a line drive in the 5th inning. McKenna Bones, Emma Santarelli, and Lange each collected multiple hits for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos.
