Union Grove High School Varsity Broncos's Late Push Leads To Victory Over Menomonee Falls Varsity Phoenix At Saturdays 2 Game Tournament

Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos defeated Menomonee Falls Varsity Phoenix 9-7 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the sixth when Ava Greening tripled, scoring two runs. River Jamison collected four hits in four at bats in the win. Jamison singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Menomonee Falls Varsity Phoenix opened the scoring in the first after a wild pitch scored one run. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos took the lead in the bottom of the first. Jamison singled, scoring two runs, to give Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos the lead, 2-1. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos added one run in the second after Ella Erickson scored after tagging up. Menomonee Falls Varsity Phoenix flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 7-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Kylee Schellhaas that drove in three. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a line out by Emma Santarelli, a single by Jamison, and a single by Bones. Ciara Hage earned the win for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos. The reliever surrendered two hits and one run over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none. Kate Nissila led things off in the circle for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking four. Ally Bichler opened the game for Menomonee Falls Varsity Phoenix. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over three innings, striking out none and walking two. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos accumulated 15 hits in the game. Bones, Karlie Peterson, Santarelli, and Erickson each collected multiple hits for Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos. Union Grove HS Varsity Broncos welcomes Westosha Central on Monday for their next game at home.
